SafeSprk Usage Instructions:

 

Rod dimensions: Up to 0.5 inch diameter, 6 inches in length max.
Rotate blade when the edge is dull. Wipe rod and blade between strikes when using in cold or wet conditions.

Check for flame after strike NOT FIREPROOF.

STEP 1:

Prep your fire site, then remove the tray from the shell.

STEP 2:

Open the tray and remove the rod and tinder.

STEP 3:

Make a small tinder pile. Create a 2-inch pile on one end of the tin.

STEP 4:

Place the outer shell over the tin/tinder. The tinder should be directly under the port.

STEP 5:

Adjust the tinder height so the rod does not knock it off the tin. Insert the rod into the port, leaving 1.5 inches outside for grip.

STEP 6:

Secure the shell firmly while pulling/dragging the rod across the long edge of the blade. Use a quick horizontal motion while applying light downforce to produce sparks.
